How it Works
Our goal: Donate $10,000+ to a local non-profit organization 4 times a year.
How do we do it? Members each donate $100 to a local non-profit organization chosen by a ballot vote. 100+ members donating $100 each equals $10,000+ given to a local organization!
We meet for one hour, four times a year, and each member brings a check for $100 to each meeting.
Here are a few simple rules:

- Any member in good standing may choose to nominate a Stephenson County 501(c)3 certified non-profit organization (link to nomination form/Fact Sheet at bottom of page)
- Nominated organizations are put into a basket
- Three organizations are drawn randomly at each meeting
- The chosen nominating members each make a 5-minute presentation about the organizations
- After the presentations there is a 2-minute question/answer session
- All members present at the meeting vote on which organization to support.
Here are a few simple rules:
- The 5-minute presentation must be made by the nominating member of the 100 Women Who Care-Stephenson County, who may or may not be a member of the nominated organization. The member may invite another member to assist with presentation. Any member not wishing to give the 5-minute presentation may request it be made by one of the co-founders at least one week in advance of the meeting. The member must still be in attendance that evening in order for the organization to be chosen.
- If you did not vote for the receiving organization or if you were unable to attend the meeting, your donation is still required as membership criteria states.
- You must be present and up to date on your donations in order to nominate and vote at each meeting.
- No national charities/organizations will be considered, however, local branches of national charities/organizations are eligible for consideration. The purpose is for all contributions to stay in Stephenson County. Eligible charities/causes must have 501(c)3 status.
- All charities/organizations not selected may be placed back in the basket for consideration at future meetings.
- All nominated organizations must agree NOT to use the names of 100 Women Who Care members for future solicitations nor give member's personal information out to the public.
- A year after being selected by the group, the non-profit may be nominated again for consideration.
Please feel free to attend any meeting as a guest. If, while you are attending the meeting, you’d like to donate to the selected charity please feel welcome to do so. We will also have member registration forms available at the meetings for anyone wishing to join us that evening.
